This Privacy Policy describes how KILO ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our iOS application and related services (collectively, the "App"). By using KILO, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, if you choose, your name and email address.
Fitness & Health Data. We collect the data you voluntarily enter into the App, including food logs, macro and calorie information, workout sessions, body weight entries, and water intake logs.
Photos. If you use the photo-based food logging feature, photos you capture are sent to our AI service provider for analysis. Photos are not stored on our servers after analysis is complete.
Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, session duration, and crash reports, to improve the App experience.
Device Information. We may collect basic device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
- To process AI-powered food recognition requests
- To manage your account and subscriptions
- To respond to your support requests
- To send important product updates and notices (you may opt out of marketing emails)
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service Providers. Third-party vendors that help us operate the App, including authentication services (Apple, Google), cloud infrastructure, AI processing (Anthropic), and analytics. These parties are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your data to perform services on our behalf.
- Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.
- Business Transfers. If KILO is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account within the App, or by emailing support@trykilo.app. Upon deletion, your personal data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
KILO is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at support@trykilo.app.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@trykilo.app.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page or, where appropriate, by sending you a notification. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
